I enjoy watching those “xtranormal” videos when people make them about dog stuff, and think they are both funny and sad at the same time. Every day, if you look at Craigslist, there are droves of people getting rid of their 10 year old dogs. Many of them are moving. Many are having a baby. A few seem as though they are genuinely regretful, and really do want the dog to have a good home. Others say “to a GOOD home only” and figure that’s enough. I also feel not enough people understand shelter situations, with regards to finances and capacity.
I’m not sure I’d label this one as funny but it sure makes a great point and it should be shared far and wide. It amazes me how other people try to pass their problem dog off to someone else when its a lack of good ownership and being too lazy to learn how to teach/train and implement that training. Not only do these folks refuse to believe by giving up their dog, they are sentencing him or her to death, they often end up getting a new dog hoping IT won’t have the same problem.
I bet there are hundreds of shelter and rescue group volunteers who would love to say the same things to the owner as I saw and heard in this video. I know there are several I’d like to say it to. Maybe I’ll just send them this video.
This is the good reason there should be human euthanasia… and pets they have to get to make the decisions..
